I am a software professional with over 2 decades of experience in telecom Element Management (EMS), Network Management (NMS), and Operations System and Support (OSS) with NFV and Orchestration.
I am working in the domains of OAM and Network Management (EMS/NMS/OSS) of telecom products with 21 years of experience. I was one of the earliest developers to start working with the J2EE technologies and applying them in the field of telecom network management. I was also one of the earliest adopters of web technologies in telecom network management. I reckon that very few folks have more experience and expertise than me in building EMS/OSS applications leveraging the distributed, enterprise platform of J2EE and web technologies (SOAP/REST/XML).
I have extensive experience in managing telecom/datacom networks of all hues and colours (5G Core, 4G EPC, IMS, VOIP, UMTS, GPRS, CDMA, IN, IP, satellite broadband) cutting across all the layers - from the device platform layer (NF), to the OEM layer (EMS), and to the service provider layers (OSS / BSS). If I have to name my favourite area, I would say it is in the area of integrating the OSS with the EMS via the North Bound Interface. I was amongst the very first few to start using XML over HTTP (now known to the world as SOAP/REST) to implement the North Bound Interface between the OSS and the EMS. I have extensive working knowledge of TMN and 3GPP 32 series which seeks to define these standards and have also actively contributed to the standards.
Over the past several years, I have helped in transforming traditional hardware based telecom network management into the virtualized cloud and cloud native platforms. From virtual machines to virtualized network functions (VNFs) in OpenStack to cloud native functions (CNFs) in Kubernetes. I have extensive hands on experience now in ETSI NFV, ONAP, and orchestration.
I am passionate about innovating and defining requirements for telecom management software and helping the engineering teams in achieving them.
